Sinomach subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) landed a contract to build the main competition and service facilities for the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A ground-breaking ceremony was recently held, with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in attendance.

 

In a speech at the ground-breaking ceremony, Mirziyoyev said that the Asian Youth Games, to be held in Tashkent in 2025, will be the highest-level and most influential international sports events ever held by Uzbekistan, and added that the construction of the Olympic City project has created favorable conditions for the smooth completion of the Games.

Uzbekistan's Olympic City project covers a construction area of about 120,000 square meters, including five main sports venues. The project features a stadium, a swimming pool, a velodrome, a multi-purpose sports hall, and a fighting hall as well as outdoor football, basketball, tennis, extreme sports and beach volleyball venues.

The project demonstrates the Samarkand Declaration of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and is also the first major cooperation project between China and Uzbekistan after the SCO meeting.

 

The project aims to maximize the sports function and social benefits of the stadium, build it into a comprehensive sports infrastructure that represents the national spirit and traditional culture of Uzbekistan, which is modern, efficient, and fully functional, and contribute positively to economic and trade cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.

 

The investment and construction of the Olympic City project in Uzbekistan will help consolidate CAMCE's expertise in civil construction, such as comprehensive large-scale sports venues, and expand the firm's overseas market share.

 

 

The China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) has released the list of projects eligible for the China International Sustainable Infrastructure Award in 2022. A number of overseas projects of Sinomach have been successfully selected, and the company has become the role model for more-sustainable BRI construction.

Pokhara International Airport, contracted by CAMCE, will serve as the aerial gateway to the Himalayan and Annapurna regions in Nepal. It is expected to handle one million passengers a year. It is designed in accordance with the 4D standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

 

The airport has an area of 2,500 square meters accommodating the air traffic control tower and operations building, two security buildings, a 6,000-square-meter domestic and international hangar, a 200-square-meter administration building, car parking areas, an air navigation unit, a fuel storage facility, water supply facilities and other utilities.

The Al Dhafra PV2 solar project, contracted by Sinomach subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), will be the world's largest single site photovoltaic plant. With the most advanced photovoltaic power generation technology, it is a model project in the construction of solar power stations and contributes to global energy transformation.

The Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Station, in which Sinomach subsidiary China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC) invested by means of BOT, is the country’s largest single-stage hydropower station with investment from Chinese enterprises. As a pillar of the state grid of Cambodia, the project has achieved an average annual generating capacity of 858 million kilowatt hours.

 

It has exerted a major influence on developing clean energy, stabilizing electricity prices and promoting national economic construction in Cambodia and is a model of China-Cambodia cooperation under the BRI.
